The first vehicle that overcome 100km/h speed threshold had inside electric car motor.  The name of this car is La Jamais Contente , it is French word which translates like forever dissatisfied.  The vehicle was built by Camille Jenatzy and he was a pilot. He was a son of Constant Jenatzy, manufacturer of rubber tires, which were a new product at that time. Camille was engineer and was interesting in vehicles with electric motor. It was very perspective from business point of view to make electric vehicles. Jenatzy opened plant and started to produce various electric carriages and lorries. He competed with another manufacturer Jeantaud in speed of carriages.  Jamais Contente was built in order to convince that Camille Jenatzy produces the fastest vehicles.  The prototype was created it the shape of bullet from “partinium” alloy (aluminum sheets alloyed with tungsten and magnesium).

Body of automobile is open, bullet shaped, aerodynamic construction, settled on the frame. Highly placement of driver and open chassis spoiled aerodynamic characteristics.  Vehicle propulsion was provided by two electric car motors Postel-Vinay with total power 50 KWt, mounted in the back part of vehicle. Maximum rate of rotations is 900 rotations per minute. Accumulator batteries placed on the chassis inside body of automobile and on the back axle. Maximum current strength is 250 A when voltage is 200 V. Tires were produced by Michelin company. Total weight is 1000 kg.

Record was established 1 may 1899 in Asher near Paris, France. Jenatzy achieved 105,882 kilometers per hour and beat previous record of graph Gaston  de Chasseeloup-Laubat , which was 92,78 kilometers per hour and was established 4 march 1899.

But shortly internal combustion engine put out electric car motors from market for whole century.

Vehicle La Jamais Contente is situated in Compiegne Museum.
